* DEADLINE EXTENDED TO SEPTEMBER 22, 2011 *
The wealth of data daily traversing the public Internet is a treasure both in terms of knowledge and in terms of economics. Furthermore, the current trend toward the remotization of data and services in cloud based structures makes our society highly dependent on the privacy, authenticity and integrity of this treasure. Thus, security has been for years and still is one of the most hot and challenging topics in research and technological evolution, however, another facet of this challenge has recently emerged. In fact, the need for the reduction of the carbon footprint of our modern society has sparked the awareness that a substantial greening is imperative in information technology in general and in its security component in particular.
The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers from a multidisciplinary audience to study the different aspects of information security systems from a green, energy aware point of view. We are soliciting original contributions that address a wide range of theoretical and application issues.
